{"id":4646,"date":"2020-08-10T14:55:48","date_gmt":"2020-08-10T13:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shipex.be\/strike-at-port-of-montreal-canada\/"},"modified":"2020-08-10T14:56:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T13:56:48","slug":"strike-at-port-of-montreal-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shipex.be\/en\/strike-at-port-of-montreal-canada\/","title":{"rendered":"Strike at Port of Montreal, Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\t<p>A <strong>strike at the port of Montreal<\/strong> is having serious impact on shipments to the region.<\/p>\r\n<p>During the last days several unions have given notice of strike actions, which has extended actions ongoing already for a few weeks, in the context of negotiations of a new collective labour agreement.<\/p>\r\nInitially the strikes were limited in time and not all terminals (and thus services) were affected.<br \/>\r\nLast week the dockers have announced \u201can unlimited general strike beginning Monday 10th of August\u201d as they fail to find an agreement with the Maritime Employers Association (MEA). At this moment it is not clear what the exact impact will be for all terminals.\r\nShipping line Hapag-Lloyd decided to divert her vessels to the <strong>port of Halifax (Nova Scotia),<\/strong><br \/>\r\nSame with a vessel of OOCL sailing from Europe, initially scheduled to arrive end of this week in Montreal, a service with shipments of several carriers (MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, Cosco), which will now proceed to the port of Halifax.
