Afstand bewaren, fysiek contact vermijden, niet met te veel mensen bij elkaar komen: we worden allemaal regelmatig geconfronteerd met de nieuwe corona-regels. In de logistiek is dat uiteraard niet anders. Het Antwerpse expeditiebedrijf Shipex speelt in op het \u2018nieuwe normaal\u2019 en bouwt voor bedrijven scheepscontainers om tot speciale afhaalkluizen, waarin goederen worden opgeslagen. Klanten kunnen met een unieke code hun lading bij het bedrijf gaan ophalen: 24 uur per dag, 7 op 7.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CEO Bram de Schepper geeft aan dat het idee in de zomer van 2019 al ontstond, ver voor de corona-crisis. \u201cEen van onze medewerkers bedacht de kluis toen naar aanleiding van een ander probleem: het grote fileleed op de A12. Dit zorgde ervoor dat klanten sanitairgroothandel Van Oirschot niet meer op tijd konden bereiken. Dankzij de kluis kunnen die klanten hun goederen nu ophalen wanneer ze dat maar willen, zonder dat Van Oirschot zijn openingsuren heeft moeten aanpassen. Zo\u2019n kluis zorgt er dus niet alleen voor dat het fysieke contact met medewerkers van het bedrijf kan worden beperkt, het helpt ook mobiliteitsproblemen verminderen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elke twintigvoetcontainer is voorzien van een elektronisch slot dat de klant kan openen met een unieke code die hoort bij zijn bestelling. In de container bevindt zich een compleet mini-magazijn – de actuele voorraad van de artikelen is steeds online te controleren.<\/p>\n

Het idee werd zeer goed ontvangen door zowel Van Oirschot als de eindklanten en inmiddels is er ook interesse vanuit andere branches om een kluis op maat te laten maken.<\/p>\n

Containervervoer is de kernactiviteit van Shipex, maar gezien de huidige corona-situatie en de positieve feedback op de kluizen, heeft het expeditiebedrijf besloten om deze nichemarkt effectief te gaan aanboren.
